Bad Day On The Midway: Music From The Game Reconsidered

From RZWiki

Bad Day On The Midway: Reconsidered is the second album based on the Bad Day On The Midway video game. It is a companion-piece to the Bad Day On The Midway novel, and was sold with copies of the book. Unlike the RMX albums before it, Bad Day On The Midway does not attempt to make a remix earlier albums by the group, but instead creates new tracks which happen to sample elements from the original game.

Background

In 1995, The Residents completed their third and final video game project, Bad Day On The Midway, to critical success, and released an album of music inspired by the game as a companion-piece.

By 2012, the game was unplayable on any modern computer, and so, to preserve the story of the game, The Residents adapted the game into a book, along with a new album inspired by the book, which was given away with copies of the book.

The book is mentioned in The Residents' 2013 Wonder Of Weird live show, with Randy Rose promoting it mid set.

In 2020, the album was released in its own cardboard packaging alongside a paperback release of the original book, published by The Antibookclub.
