Randall Rose, Jr.

From RZWiki
(Redirected from Randy Junior)

Randall Rose, Jr. (also known as Randy Junior or simply Junior) is the protagonist of Homer Flynn and The Residents' 2022 feature film Triple Trouble, portrayed by Dustin York in footage shot in 2016 and 2020.

A skateboarding priest, and the estranged son of The Residents' lead singer Randy Rose, Junior's life begins to unravel after discovering footage from the unfinished film Vileness Fats in a foot-locker in his mother's basement.

Five years later, Junior has lost his faith and left the church, instead becoming a plumber. The emotionally isolated former priest spirals into a paranoid mindset when a strange white fungus begins clogging drains across the city.[1]

History

Junior was first mentioned in a short YouTube video entitled "Junior's Double Trouble Nightmare" posted by The Residents in 2016, starring their lead singer Randy Rose, which announced the group's feature film project Double Trouble (later retitled Triple Trouble). In this video, Randy Rose addresses his son in a dream, announcing and describing the plot of the upcoming film.

Junior's first full appearance was in a second YouTube video posted by The Residents in September 2016, "Double Trouble Trailer", a pre-production trailer for the film which featured clips from actual scenes expected to feature in the film. This trailer also revealed that the character is a priest.

In the near future, Randall Rose, Jr., the son of The Residents' late lead singer Randy Rose, is a doubtful priest who discovers that his father's ashes have gone missing. While searching for the ashes, Junior discovers footage from The Residents' unfinished feature film Vileness Fats in a foot-locker in his mother's basement. As he watches the footage, he discovers that his life has begun to unravel in a manner similar to that of Saint Steve, the protagonist of Vileness Fats.

Five years later, Junior has lost his faith and left the church, instead becoming a plumber. Emotionally isolated following the death of his mother and the collapse of his marriage, Junior's only companion is Cherry, an AI-enhanced drone. When a mysterious white fungus begins appearing in drains across the city, Junior spirals further into a conspiracy mindset.[1]
