1988

From RZWiki

The year of 1988 was a fresh one for The Residents with the release of their album God in Three Persons, the first new Residents project to be released on Compact Disc as well as their first release on a label different than Ralph Records (Rykodisc).

No longer owners of Ralph, the band would continue to work with other labels for their future projects. But the relationship between both parties was still cordial, as Ralph would auxiliate Uncle Willie in managing UWEB, a new official Residents fan club founded later in the year, and would work closely with the band for the release of exclusive material and news.

Throughout 1988, several other releases related to God in Three Persons would come out in various formats. Aditionally, plans for a live show based on the album were put on track; but they would not materialize until several decades later. The seeds for a much more profitable live show were planted later in the year with a private performance for their European distributor Torso.
