The Alliance
The Alliance were a garage rock band founded by Roland Sheehan in 1966, and briefly managed by Hardy Fox prior to the formation of The Residents.
History
In 1966, The Alliance was formed by multi-instrumentalist Roland Sheehan in Dubach, Louisiana. The group gained the attention of a young Hardy Fox, then taking his first tentative steps towards a career in music management.
By February 1967 the group moved to Ruston, Louisiana, where they recorded and released their first and only single "Somewhere They Can't Find Me" backed with "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone".
The group disbanded in the late 1960s, and Sheehan went on to join the group who would become The Residents in San Mateo, California in 1969.
