Santa Dog Records (sometimes abbreviated SDR) was a short-lived vanity label launched by The Cryptic Corporation in the fall of 2008, with the release of The Residents' studio album The Bunny Boy.[1]

Originally intended as a sub-label of Mute Records,[2] the label was named after The Residents' 1972 debut EP. Santa Dog Records only saw two releases in its short lifespan; The Bunny Boy and its companion album Postcards From Patmos, both released in 2008.

The label ceased operations in August 2009 due to "DBA" (or "Doing Business As") problems and a lack of involvement from Mute, with The Residents' future releases being issued under a "much blander" Cryptic/MVD Audio branding.[2]
