Will Rothers (also known as Will Ruthers) was a pseudonym adopted by Hardy Fox, which he used regularly in his capacity as webmaster for The Residents' official website and author of its official news BOG, where he was commonly known as Big Brother (or BB) - a name previously used in the 1980s for The Residents' official BBS server.

The Will Rothers persona was further utilized in press releases, newsletters and liner notes, even authoring a sub-blog within the BOG titled The Last Word, consisting of personal commentary on matters relating to The Residents.

As Rothers, Fox sometimes engaged directly with fans via the web chat embedded within residents.com; an inside joke from this period resulted in the creation of a YouTube channel, "PoopInALunch", featuring three short animations depicting Big Brother "pooping in a lunch" in different settings.

Fox continued to write as Rothers until shortly before his death in October 2018, with the persona contributing interviews and press releases for Fox's solo recordings in Fox's Hacienda Bridge newsletter following his departure from The Residents in 2018.

Fox was also behind a related persona, Rebecca Rothers.
