Substance W are a musical project active since 2008, who released a handful of albums on Worst Kitchen Records between 2008 and 2011. The project is best known to Residents fans for their cover of "Easter Woman", included in the group's 2018 collaborative album I Am A Resident!.
This cover had previously been included on the unofficial fan-made cover album Who Killed Ralph?, released in September 2016; Substance W also produced a cover of "Blue Rosebuds" for this compilation, as well as a cover of "Perfect Love" for the second album in the series, Who Killed Ralph, Too?, released two months after the first.
"Easter Woman" was the only cover submitted to I Am A Resident! by Substance W.
