Who Killed Ralph?
| DISCLAIMER! This article is about a project made by fans, which may or may not be officially sanctioned by The Residents and The Cryptic Corporation. |
Who Killed Ralph? was a series of eight unofficial fan-sourced tribute albums to The Residents, released by Who Killed Ralph? Records on Bandcamp between September 2016 and December 2018. The series was originally organized by fan Tom-Erik Løe in the Ralph Records unofficial Facebook group in 2016, and concluded following the release of the official fan cover project I Am A Resident!, which featured several cover versions first heard in this series.
Løe removed Who Killed Ralph? from Bandcamp during his short-lived retirement from the Residents fan community in November 2021. The first four of the unofficial tribute albums were relisted on Bandcamp within weeks of this incident, however, following another dispute, the entire series had again been removed from Bandcamp by April 2022.
The series was made available once again in December 2022, following its mention in the official encyclopedia Faceless Forever, which notes that although The Residents have never officially sanctioned the series, they are "apparently aware of it, and appreciate the gesture".[1]
Although several tracks across the series appeared on earlier releases, many were exclusive.
